BLOUNT COUNTY PARENT INVOLVEMENT PROGRAM
Parent Involvement: A Key to your child's success.
The Mission of the Blount County Parent Involvement Program is to provide information, support, resources and training for parents of students enrolled in the Blount County School System.

Rebecca J. Shew, Parent Involvement Coordinator

The Blount County Parent Involvement Program is based at the Blount County Resource Center. The Program is designed to keep parents informed regarding local school policies, State and Federal regulations, and ideas and techniques to help your child with his/her education. Training sessions are scheduled each school year specifically for parents. These include, but are not limited to, Annual Federal Programs Information Meeting, Kid Crafters Training for parents and their preschool age children 3-5 years old, an Open House at the Blount County Resource Center to familiarize parents with what is available and Beginning Level Computer Classes. Each school that receives Title I funds must provide opportunities for parents to be involved in their child's education and opportunities for parent to do volunteer work in or for the school.
